thyssenkrupp Polysius and SaltX have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to jointly develop the next generation of fully electrified production facilities.

Circlua, headquartered in Belo Horizonte (MG, Brazil) has entrusted thyssenkrupp Polysius to perform a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) contract for the construction of the world’s largest activated clay plant with a capacity of 3000tpd.

Eqiom Lumbres Cement Plant, a CRH Company, has entrusted thyssenkrupp Polysius with the implementation of an ultrafine grinding plant. This additional grinding stage allows for the reduction of the clinker factor in cement.

Taiwan Cement Corporation, Taipei (TCC) and thyssenkrupp Polysius, via its regional headquarter Asia Pacific intend to develop, construct and commission a separate oxyfuel calciner that is unique in it’s kind and has a very compact footprint. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed today in Taipei/Taiwan. The pilot plant will be built at TCC's Hoping plant and integrated into the existing production line. In a first step, TCC will commission thyssenkrupp Polysius with the engineering of the plant.

thyssenkrupp Polysius and SCHWENK Zement have jointly developed a new process and technology that enable the activation of any type of clay without thermal energy and fossil fuels. The two companies presented meca-clay at this year's FutureCem Conference and Exhibition in Brussels.

CIMPOR Ghana Ltd. commissions thyssenkrupp Polysius GmbH with the construction of a flash activator for clay activation in Tema, Ghana. The plant will have the world's largest new built flash activator for clay with a daily production capacity of 1,280 tons. Once operational in 2025, the Tema plant will save up to 440,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually. CIMPOR Global Holdings is a group of companies founded by Ordu Yardimlasma Kurumu (OYAK) and Taiwan Cement Corporation, which operates in the cement and concrete sectors.

Mountain Cement Company LLC (“Mountain Cement”), part of the Eagle Materials Inc., is implementing the polysius® booster mill for the grinding capacity increase of its plant in Laramie, Wyoming/USA. This additional grinding stage enhances the flexibility of the cement production of Mountain Cement.

To reduce the clinker factor of cement produced in its plant of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, Ciments d'Afrique (CIMAF) has entrusted thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions AG, BU Polysius, to install a polysius® booster mill. By boosting the fineness and reactivity of the clinker portion, the high energy density mill will enable clinker substitution by local filler while maintaining both cement quality to local standards and production capacity of the exiting ball mill.

Hamburg/Brussels, 19 January 2023 – A big step towards the revolution of the cement industry: The EU is investing EUR 109.8 million in Holcim’s innovative Carbon2Business project in Lägerdorf, Schleswig-Holstein. On 19 January, CEO of Holcim Germany Thorsten Hahn officially accepted the funding certificate in Brussels. The EU funding will be use to build a new kiln line. As an industrial-scale prototype for the decarbonisation of cement production, the oven uses second-generation oxyfuel technology as well as a downstream compression and cleaning unit for the CO2. The Carbon2Business project is one of two projects in Germany, and one of seventeen in total, that the EU is investing in using its EUR 1.8 billion innovation fund. Holcim itself is investing an amount in the triple-digit million range into the project.

The research company "CI4C" - Cement Innovation for Climate, founded by the four cement manufacturers Buzzi Unicem SpA - Dyckerhoff GmbH, HeidelbergCement AG, SCHWENK Zement GmbH & Co. KG and Vicat S.A. has awarded thyssenkrupp's Polysius business unit to build a polysius® pure oxyfuel kiln system on the site of the Mergelstetten cement plant in southern Germany.

Reno, February 22, 2022 - thyssenkrupp yesterday opened a new service center in Reno, Nevada, for customers in the North American cement industry and other industrial sectors. It comprises 10,700 square feet of warehouse and workshop space as well as office and meeting space. The service center has a complete assembly, production and machining line, enabling it to carry out a wide range of modernization and repair work, particularly for customers in the western USA and Canada.

The business unit Cement Technologies of thyssenkrupp has received an order from Ciments Calcia S.A, subsidiary of HeidelbergCement Group, for the construction of a turnkey cement production line. The line, with a production capacity of 4,000 tons of clinker per day, is to be built at the Airvault site to replace the two existing lines. The aim is to almost double clinker production at the Airvault site. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the contract value.

Turkmen Enjam has commissioned thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions to build a second cement clinker production line at the Lebap cement plant in Turkmenistan (Koytendag region).

Marking a successful beginning of FY 2020-21, thyssenkrupp Industries India has won a contract from Shiva Cement for its new project in Odisha. The contract includes design and supply of a complete 4,000 tonne per day Pyro line in Odisha, India. Shiva Cement is a subsidiary of JSW Cement Ltd, India’s leading Green cement manufacturing company.

thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (USA), Inc. is investing in a new Service Center in Reno, NV to bring field service expertise, machining, fabrication and refurbishment capabilities closer to our cement and mining industry customers in North America and especially in the western US.

SECIL Group, a major Portuguese cement producer and provider of construction materials, has entrusted thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions S.A.S. (France) with the modernization project of its Outão cement plant, one of the 3 cement plants operated by SECIL in Portugal. These modifications will contribute to eliminate the dependence on fossil fuels and promote the development of low carbon clinker and cements.

The polytrack® cooling system developed by thyssenkrupp is used in more than 130 cement plants worldwide. The latest generation of the system requires less energy and its simplified design shortens installation, inspection and maintenance times.
